Hi, I'm Nick

James on paper. Nick to everyone who knows me.

I'm an Austin native, born and raised, and one of the few proud townies left. I'm an urban planner, and my work focuses on protecting the environment: looking after the creeks, trees and open land that make this city worth living in, even as it keeps growing.

Before any of that, I'm a dad and a husband, typical A-Town dog person. That's our terrier mix, Goji, howling at the moon on the home page. Off the clock you'll find me outside with binoculars, inside chilling with the AC, and often in line for tacos. I love nature and science, and my favorite projects involve both, usually with a map somewhere in the mix.

This site is where I keep the things I make: small games for my kid for now, and maps and data projects as they come along.
